On Friday January 7, 2011 we laid to rest our beloved son and brother Thomas Henry “Hank” McVicar in Santa Monica California. We celebrated his life and prayed in his passage in a beautiful funeral Mass at St. Monica’s with so many friends and our families.
We are still in mourning, but I wanted to express the family’s deepest gratitude for the love, support, sympathies and wishes from all corners of our lives.
Hank grew in strength, intellect and culture into an inspiring and compassionate young man who always retained the sweet purity of his boyhood. We cherish his memory and feel him with us.
We will also continue to feel the wishes and love from so many in our lives. Thank you.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I do understand what you are going through. We lost our son Chris on Sept. 30, 2008 in a car accident. I will be praying for you and your family.

Daniel,
My deepest condolenxces on the loss of your son Hank. My family went through the same tragedy almost 30 years ago when my sister was killed in a motorbike accident just 2 months shy of her 19th birthday. I know how difficult it was for my family to go on without her and how hard it will be for your family without Hank. I will pray that God gives your family the strength to endure.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your son. Truly being a parent means watching your heart walk around outside of your body in that of your children. To have to bury one is unfathomable. My deepest, deepest condolences to you and your family. My prayers are with you.

Our children attended Santa Monica schools together, and I still have the Middle School yearbook with Hank’s good wishes from his loving family in the “ad” section.
May your hearts gradually heal from this painful tragedy.

I was just thinking about all the fun memories I had with Hank. I miss that goofy guy sooo much! My love and prayers go out to you Dan. I hope you are staying strong and hope to hear from you soon! My brother told me you found a card I gave to Hank a long time ago. How funny. I’m a little embarrassed because I’m pretty sure it was a love note or something haha but it means so much to me that he kept it. Hope all is well

Dear Dan,
I am so sorry of the loss of your son. My parent’s buried 3 of their children and I couldn’t imagine anything harder in life. I am also sorry about your Dad. My Dad passed away in May. I don’t have parents and I only have 2 siblings. Dan, you know what it’s like to lose your brother.
Faith, family, and friends will help you thru such a difficult time.
