Daniel and Valerio Massiomo Manfredi The Ischia Global Festival was a great experience. More than a film festival, it is a gathering of great minds and artists in a splendid location for a little more than a week to discuss the hard realities of motion picture making, as well as the creative possibilities.

It was inspirational to be in the company of artists that I admire, writers and directors Terry Gilliam, Michael Radford, Steve Zaillian, Paul Haggis and Bille August.

A summit of business leaders and producers included Ryan Kavanaugh, Aurelio De Laurentis, Mark Canton, Michael Burns of Lions Gate, Nicola Giuliano, Mike Nozik, Valerio De Paolis, Paolo Del Brocco, Maurizio Totti, Gian Andrea Pecorelli and the great Harvey Weinstein stopped by during the festival.

Also in attendance were two of the great agents with Italian American connections, Vittorio Squillante and ICM’s Jack Gilardi.

Those attending are an example for me and discussions that will continue to inspire me as I move forward in the next part of my work. Pascal Vicedomeni has created something very special at the festival, and its sister festival Capri Hollywood.

That guy Ryan Kavanaugh makes a ton of movies. Here’s his site but there’s nothing on it yet. http://www.relativitymediallc.com
